Its been another interesting year. It started with Brenton, our son, travelling to New York for Christmas, then a trip through Mexico and Central America for 2-3 months.

Greg went on a 8 day walk on the Great North Walk track from Woolwich (Sydney) to Yarramalong (near Wyong) in NSW. Later he went on walks with a Robert Green into Kosciusko National Park undertaking some exploring and documenting followed by a further trip with some KHA people. Greg also went on a 10 day 4WD trip from Canberra to Willandra National Park, Ivanhoe, Broken Hill and area and Mungo National Park. This was in in company with 5 other old local fellas.

Greg has also become a member of Melba Shed which is uniquely Australian thing called a Mens Shed where old guys get together and do things, See here. He also has continued volunteering for Lifeline in their fund raising book fairs. Lifeline ACT has two major 3 day book fairs every year and raise around $600,000 from these to support their counseling services. The next fair is 16-19th April 2010. These are reputed to be the biggest and best fairs in Australia.

Virginia is sill working full time but recently changed to Villaggio Sant' Antonio nursing home nearby.

Geralyn, our daughter, moved jobs to the Australian Research Council, but in early December 2009 started working for the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) in Canberra. Our son in law, Brendon has left IBM and commenced working for a Government Department in central Canberra. Brendon is an IT geek (well that's his job) and has me migrating to Windows 7 by Christmas. Ugh! I just got Vista and XPSP3 working sweetly.

Greg has started uploading various trips and special sets of pictures to Google's Picasa. You can see various albums here

Greg has just bought a Kindle on 8th Dec. Bit of an adventure; or maybe a disaster! (PS Brendon doesn't have a Kindle and the son thinks the i-phone is all you need!) Read about it here.

Well my solar panels have produced around 1,300KWH of electricity from the beginning Mar until around the end of Nov this year. Also our new Solar Heat pump seems to have also worked and reduced electricity usage. However costs of everything continues to rise and we keep on voting into power the biggest sets of dorks one could ever imagine. Kevin 07 is now Krudd. The NSW premier is now a woman, as is the deputy, and their governor. Wow they are taking over! The premier was born in Ohio, USA. See we can't produce good pollies; we have to import them!

Greed is good again as the ASX200 market passes 4800!

Well Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year
